Admin Joined: Apr 11, 2001 Posts: 284	Posted: 2002-10-27 23:25 Hi, I have just ported Hagelslag, a gnutella client for 68k This client work on local connection. And seem's to work on internet. I said seem's cause I never manage to download a single file from internet, while on my local network, it work. Note that finding any host that will accept Gnutella V0.4 protocol will the most difficult thing. Try to connect to all hostscaches. Here are quick instructions to test hagleslag: -start hagelslag -type: h a connect1.gnutellanet.com (this will connect hagelslag to a host cache) -type: s 55 mp3 (this will search for mp3 on hosts with a speed>55) -if hagelslag find any result, it will retrun a message -type l r (this will show you the results) -type d s 0 (this will download the first file returned by the query) -read the doc to go further Note that actually you will only be able to download, no upload yet. that is to say if you connect to another amiga with hagelslag you won't be able to download anyfile. Here you have typed 1 (one) instead of l character To list results you need to have results first, Hagelslag will tell you if you have results after a query Well it seem's you've made just a quick test, please try a bit further. look if hagelslag connect to hosts. type l c (list connection). You must have connection state to active to be able to search a file at a host. thank's for the report SixK

A ctrl-c returned to the CLI. It seems that the amount of connections increases by the time. After waiting some minutes, I finally found some files :) Sadly no download was possible. Hagelslag does not work with KingCON. No inputs are possible with KingCON. Finding some files was even more than I expected. I hope this early beta preview will become a really nice piece of software. Thanks for your work! bye yelworC (sorry 4 my bad english)

Admin Joined: Apr 11, 2001 Posts: 284	Posted: 2002-10-30 01:01 Thank's yelworC, That was the kind of test I was waiting for ) now I know that hagelslag work on internet too I'm not sure hagelslag was crashed after you had results, maybe it was trying to connect to a host. When hagelsag try to connect to hosts uinreachable, it sometimes take 1 minutes before you can do anything. You would have notice that hagelslag is slow at start, this is because hagelslag try to connect to my local ip: 192.1.32.200, edit the .hagelslag/hagelslag.hosts file and remove the line with my Ip. In fact, once you have found files, you shoud have note the Ip of the host, then try to connect directly to him using : h a host_with_mp3_ip Then I'm pretty sure you would be able to download files, as download work fine here in my local network SixK

Anonymous Unregistered User	Posted: 2002-10-31 13:22 I hope you are using kingcon 1.6 from remapollo.lha. VNC is sometimes not reading my keys and waits. I really dont know what you mean that kindcon does no input. If you mean all the commands than it works for me. I can connect using the host on this list and i can list some connections. But when i search i dont find anything at all. Sometimes the program crashes. Where can i get a file to test. Say a host and a file to search. I tryed with mp3, avi, exe, mpg and it found nothing.

Anonymous Unregistered User	Posted: 2002-12-12 13:53 I can't get hagelslag to work at all. whenever I do a s xx yyyy (replace the xx with some number) (replace the yyyy with some string) and I do l r it simply echoes the input. I also wonder about hagelslag when I was at the some gnutella site I noticed that hagelslag was not among the supported clients but another shell gnutella client was (mutella) and then there is the amiga gnutella client amignut (or something similar) which was dropped some time ago due to the author not having enough time for it (the source is on aminet, I think) the amignut has a mui interface.
Admin Joined: Apr 11, 2001 Posts: 284	Posted: 2002-12-12 23:19 The main probleme with hagelslag and amignut is that those 2 programs are using gnutella 0.4 protocol and all the new gnutella clients are using 0.6 protocol. amignut is not finished and can't work. and to download something with hagelslag you have to be really lucky. I would say that actually it's not possible to download something anymore with hagelslag... I made some work on protocol 0.6 but each client seem's to have added their particularities in the protocol so it's really difficult to make a compatible client.
